Memorable R/C Photo Contest #4

PC-004

Thank you to Mr Chris Chow from Australia for the entry.

In 1987 a little known Japanese driver by the name of Masami Hirosaka arrived in Romsey England to compete in that years IFMAR 1/10 buggy world title. Masami entered as a privateer and showed great pace with a SWB Schumacher CAT and HPI UNO for horsepower. So much so he was spotted by Phil Booth, a Schumacher driver and was given a longer version of the car called the CAT XL. Needless to say he went on to win that race, the first of many world titles and thus begun the legend that was Masami Hirosaka. It has been 22 years since he won that race and my entry is a replica of the car Masami drove. This is the only car that was not neither a Yokomo nor an Associated in all his 14 world titles.

Thanks for the memories and all the best Masami san
